  2. So many of you asked about Stan Jacobson at this year's reunion. Stan passed away on September 24th. May he rest in peace.

    2. Stanley Kay Jacobson, of Rigby, passed away at home Sunday morning, Sept. 24, 2017, at the age of 80, surrounded by his loving family.

      He was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lathen Jacobsen and Eva McKay Jacobson. He grew up in Irwin, Idaho.

      He married Charlamae Spaulding on June 28, 1956, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They raised three children in Rigby, two daughters and one son. Stan worked for the Idaho National Laboratory for 40 years.

      Stan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many church callings, including ward and stake dance director, Scoutmaster, Sunday school counselor and teacher, elders quorum president, counselor in the bishopric, as a temple officiator in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and as a ward missionary.

      His hobbies included, dancing, horseback riding, hunting, fly tying and camping with his family.

      Stan is survived by his wife, Charlamae, of Rigby; daughter, Shonna (John Kevin) Allred, of Rigby; daughter, Tanny (Bart) Cherry, of Idaho Falls; son, Jeff Jacobson, of Ririe; sister, Maxine (Alan) Lazar, of Palm Springs, California; sister, Donaleen (Deloy) Beasley, of Arizona; brother, Roger (Colleen) Jacobson, of Irwin; and sister, Jacqueline (Rhett) Bradford, of Irwin.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Lathen and Eva Jacobson; siblings, Margorie (Donald) Kawaler, Phyllis Jacobson, Dean Berdette (Violet) Jacobson and Lathen Duane (Darlene) Jacobson; and great-granddaughter, Avalyn Davis.

      Stan loved his three children, his nine grandchildren and his 11 great-grandchildren. He was a great example to all of his family and friends and will be missed by all.

    FREDA HELEN TOLLBOM July 14, 1936/ January 5, 2018 Einan's at Sunset Freda was born to Ivan and Edith Weeks in Idaho Falls, Idaho on July 14, 1936. She grew up with two brothers and a sister on the family ranch in Swan Valley, Idaho. Freda had a love of music and began playing the tenor saxophone and piano in High School. This carried over into adulthood when she sang, played the piano and organ at church. Along with music she loved people and often showed this through her fantastic cooking. She also enjoyed growing roses and begonias as well as traveling to scenic areas. After here children were grown, Freda earned master's degree in Nursing from WSU and helped start the first NICU at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Her greatest passion was teaching the Bible. She showed this by being a Precepts Bible study leader for decades. In her later years, many women prisoners whom she visited came to know Christ. She is survived by her husband Laroy Tollbom, sons; Cullen Tollbom and Bruce Tollbom and daughter; Trenna Tollbom. She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Edith Weeks, brothers; Renell Weeks and Clinton Weeks, and sister Karma Kelsey. Services will be held on January 27, 2018 Public Viewing at Einan's Funeral Home Chapel from 8:30-10:30am Graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens at Einan's at 10:30am Memorial Service at First Baptist Church in Richland at 11:30am with a Luncheon reception to follow at 12:30pm.

  5. Lena Zitlau McCabe Wiese, 102, of Rigby, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, from causes incident to age.

    Lena was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Labelle, Jefferson County, Idaho, to Martha Kliester and Fredrick Zitlau.

    She married Henry McCabe on June 17, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1977.

    She married Harry Wiese in 1988. He preceded her in death in 2003.

    She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a devoted visiting teacher. She was a homemaker, mother, gardener and was always involved in the farming and ranching of the day. She sewed numerous beautiful quilts to the enjoyment of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For the last several years, she has resided at Rigby Great Oaks Assisted Living Center.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; and her children, Edwin (Harriet) McCabe, William (Marie) McCabe, Howard (Arlene) McCabe, Genevieve (Lewis) Ladwig and Rose Brown.
    She is survived by her children, Maxine (Ronald) Crossley of Rigby, Roger (Doris) Snider of Salem, Utah, Patrick (Carol) McCabe of North Salt Lake City and Harry (Karen) McCabe of Medford, Ore.; 34 grandchildren; 97 great-grandchildren; and 61 great-great-grandchildren.

  6. Jennie F. Linville Zitlau, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at a Boise care center.

    Jennie was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Ashton, Idaho, to Elijah and Mary Ann Pope Linville. She grew up on the Linville family homestead in Swan Valley, Idaho, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1940.

    She married Harry A. Zitlau on Dec. 21, 1947, in Idaho Falls, and they lived there until moving to Boise in 1969.

    Jennie worked for the State Liquor Dispensary until retiring in 1983.

    Jennie loved bowling, traveling and growing beautiful roses, irises and raspberries. She bowled for 52 years, and was sad to give up her bowling at age 89. She was proud to have traveled to all 50 states with Harry.

    Over the years, she cared for and loved many stray cats: Abigail, Bunny Hop, Daisy Mae, Boyd, Grandpa, Ida Mae and Bobbie Lee, just to name a few.

    She was a lifetime active member in the American Legion Auxiliary and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). Jennie and Harry were part of the founding members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Boise. She always referred to her friends at Beautiful Savior as her "church family." Jennie is survived by her daughter, Connie; daughter-in-law, Sharon; and granddaughter, Tina Zitlau, all of Boise; grandson, Jess; and great-grandson, Ryder Zitlau, both of Corvallis, Ore.; sister-in-law, Lena McCabe Wiese of Rigby; and many nieces and nephews.

    Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; five older brothers; her husband of 47 years, Harry; and sons, Gary and Kirk Zitlau.

    The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mom's loving and wonderful caregivers at Hillcrest Assisted Living.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Just Strays or to your favorite charity.

    A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Summers Funeral Homes, 1205 W. Bannock St. in Boise. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, also at Summers Funeral Homes in Boise. Interment services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Little Butte Cemetery in Idaho Falls.

  7. Alan K Weeks, born Dec. 5, 1946, to Howard and Dorothy Weeks of Irwin, Idaho, died June 2, 2011, following a sudden illness, surrounded by family and friends.

    Alan grew up in Irwin, Idaho, where he learned to love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working with his dad on the farm. This is where Alan developed his fun and teasing personality. He loved roaming the mountains, whether it was riding his horses, four-wheeling, or just on a road trip. He was always at home when he was in the mountains. He had a huge love of life and he lived it to the fullest.

    At an early age, he and his cousin, Howard Ashment, ventured off to Arizona, where he met and married Milssent Star Bland. They made their home in Mesa, Ariz. Together they had three sons: Jeff, Jason and Andy. Alan and Star were later divorced.

    While in Arizona, he learned the trade of floor covering and started his own carpet company, which he continued until the time of his death.

    A few years later, Alan moved back to his roots in Idaho, to be close to his family and the mountains he loved. There he met and married his soul mate, and his best friend, Kris Newman W eeks. They had many happy, fun filled years together.

    "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming, ‘WOW, WHAT A RIDE!'"

    Alan is survived by his loving wife, Kris Weeks of Tetonia; sons, Jeff (Christine)Weeks, Jason (Marianne) Weeks of Arizona; step-daughters, Jody Kaufman (Kory) Hill of Tetonia, Tara Kaufman (Taylor) Smith of Idaho Falls, Chelsey Ann Kaufman presently serving our country in the Navy; Danille Thurston of Colorado whom he also raised; six grandchildren which were the light of his life; six sisters; three brothers; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Alan was preceded in death by his son, Andy Weeks, his father and mother, his grandparents, two sisters and one brother.

    He was loved and will be missed by all.

  8. George Merrill Grubb
    George Merrill Grubb went home to be with his Lord Feb. 28, 2014, after a short illness. Private interment will be Thursday, March 6, at Eagle Point National Cemetery, with full military honors. A public memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, in Shasta Way Christian Church with a potluck reception to follow. George was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to George A. and Dorothy (Schwartz) Grubb. He graduated high school in Idaho Falls in 1955. In 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and spent more than 20 years serving our country. After his retirement in 1976, he moved back to Klamath Falls and worked for Klamath Falls City School District, the Klamath County School District, and Basin Transit Service. After that, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Grubb was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John F. Grubb; first wife, Joann (Foster) Grubb; second wife, Carol (Wycoff) Grubb; granddaughter, Jennifer Grubb and step-son, Chad Wycoff. Survivors include his children, James Grubb and family of Anderson, S.C., John and Jeanne Ann Grubb and family of Klamath Falls, Julie and Kenneth Gregg and family of Galt, Calif., and Janelle McCully and family of Klamath Falls; step-son, Charlie Wycoff of Klamath Falls; special friends, Doreen Chase of Klamath Falls, Margaret Peterson of West Jordan, Utah; sister, Belle Beam of Swan Valley, Idaho; sister-in-law, Shirley Grubb of Walla Walla, Wash.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and many friends.

  9. Anthony "Tony" Hincks, 82, of Swan Valley, Idaho, passed away at his home Feb. 7, 2018. He was under the care of his loving family and Encompass Hospice.

    He was born October 12, 1935 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Elvin Vale Hincks and Mildred Jacobson Hincks. His early school years were spent in Wyoming and then he went to school in Swan Valley and Ririe. He graduated from Ririe High School.

    He grew up in the Swan Valley area and married Jean Ann Prince Oct. 24, 1953 in Swan Valley, Idaho. They had 8 children, Rocky, Barry, Cody, Clay, Kelly, Lynni, Cory and Brady. Jean passed away July 14, 2016.

    Tony worked for the Idaho State Department of Transportation. He was the head of the Swan Valley Department maintaining the roads from the Wyoming border to Ririe.

    Tony was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, horses, and spending time with his family. He also loved anything to do with the outdoors.

    He is survived by his sons, Rocky (Nit) Hincks of Lakewood, Washington, Barry (Jennifer) Hincks of Bellevue, Idaho, Cody Hincks of Overton, Nevada, Clay ( Debbie) Hincks of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Kelly Hincks of Swan Valley, Idaho, Cory Hincks of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Brady (Astra) Hincks of Rigby, Idaho; daughter, Lynni Hincks of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sister, Eunice (Martel) Sneider of Menan, Idaho; brothers Roy (Deloris) Hincks of Aberdeen, Idaho, Dusty (Joyce) Hincks of Swan Valley, Idaho, Bret (Joann) Hincks of Palisades, Idaho; sister-in-law, Marlene Hincks of Roosevelt, Utah; brother-in-law, Gene Sorg of Paul, Idaho; 26 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Mildred, wife, Jean, sister, Sheila Sorg, and brother, Brian Hincks.

  10. Margaret "J" Fisher Jacobson, 88, of Swan Valley, passed away in Idaho Falls on December 27, 2011, from complications after a stroke on December 23rd.

    A lifelong resident of Swan Valley, Margaret was born January 30, 1923, in Annis, Idaho, in her Grandma Brown’s home, the daughter of John Caton Fisher and Joanna Austin Brown Fisher. She was raised along Pine Creek in Swan Valley and attended school at the old Pine Creek School House and Idaho Falls High School.

    She married Lloyd Agustus Jacobson January 3, 1946, in Glendale, California, and their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 8, 1963. They moved to Swan Valley shortly after they married and ran their ranch in Swan Valley together. Margaret served as City Clerk in Swan Valley for 31 years and cooked for the Senior Citizens of Swan Valley for 20 years. She was also the local correspondent for the Post Register. Margie loved the history of Swan Valley and had a collection of scrapbooks that reflects all published articles regarding Swan Valley from 1943 to 2010. Lloyd passed away July 1, 1995.

    An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served in various capacities over the years. Margie loved car rides around southeast Idaho, looking at the scenery, wildlife, and the progress of the crops. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary for 65 years, holding district and unit offices. Margaret was also an active member of the Swan Valley Pinochle Club and enjoyed the friendship and joy of playing cards with her lifelong friends.

    A proud mother of two, Margaret is survived by her children,
    DeLloyd J Jacobson of Swan Valley, ID and Vacaville, CA; and
    Michele Jacobson Hornby of Swan Valley, ID and Mesa, AZ;
    6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, her husband, and a son-in-law, Glen Hornby.

  11. Darlene Knobel, 86 of Boise, Idaho joined her Father in Heaven April 6, 2031 passing peacefully in her sleep.
    The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm April 12, 2013 at the LDS Church at 504 11th Avenue North in Nampa, Idaho with visitation beginning at Noon. Bishop Mike Alder of the Kimball Ward will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell at 3:00pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bowman Funeral Parlor.
    Darlene was born in Salt Lake, Utah on March 21, 1927. She grew up in Irwin, Idaho where she graduated from Ririe High School in1946.
    Darlene was married to Kenneth Leroy Knobel on August 3, 1946. To this union four children were born; John Leroy Knobel, Frankie Bea Stoltenow, Vicki Darlene Knobel and Anna Michelle Moore.
    Darlene retired as a lunch lady for Meridian High School. She enjoyed her garden, reading and visiting with friends. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in several church and volunteer positions over the years, including a mission to Koscesco, Mississippi in 1995.
    Darlene is survived by her sister Donna Joyce Pully, sister Beatrice Kaye Byington, daughter Frankie Stoltenow, daughter Michelle Moore, nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
    Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, sister Phyllis Cazier, brother Lyle Weeks, daughter Vicki Darlene and son John.
    She was greatly loved and will sorely missed.

  12. Donna Marie Mechling Marshall (Grandma Whitehair), 85, passed away on August 8th 2017. She was born April 10th, 1932 to Daniel and Margaret Mechling in Thayne, Wyoming. She had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She married Allen E Clark and had 3 children. They later divorced and she then married John F Marshall with whom she had 2 more children and also gained 2 step-children. Donna lived in Payson for many years and you could more than likely find her at the Payson Downs racetrack cleaning the stalls and feeding their prized race horses. She was a licensed owner at many tracks including her favorite, Wyoming Downs. You could bet you would find her jumping up and down cheering her horses on in the grandstand. She was a member of the Nebo Cutter Association and Payson Racing Association, she had some big wins in both flat track racing and chariot racing. She was a big fan of the Utah Jazz and never missed a televised game. She even named one of her race horses “Stockton to Malone”. Donna was known for having a sassy attitude but a big heart to go along with it. She was deeply loved by her family and just about anyone she ever came in contact with. We will miss her jokes and her silly personality.

    Donna is survived by 2 brothers — Jim and Dennis; 2 sisters — Myrna and Phyllis; 4 children: Vonna (Chris) Johnson — Barry (Becky) Clark — Jana Evans and Georgia (Tim) Haws; 2 step-children: Jeff Marshall and Brad Marshall, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Keith, Glenn, and Walt, and her daughter Denise Guzman.

    The family would like to thank all the staff at Country Lane Assisted Living and Justin from AFI Hospice for all that was done for Grandma Whitehair and us.

  13. Don McNeil
    SODA SPRINGS - Donald O. McNeil, 84, of Soda Springs, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
    He was born November 15, 1922, at LaBelle, Idaho, the son of Robert and Inez Sophia Lundquist McNeil. He was raised and educated at LaBelle, and also lived at Stuart Dam, by Montpelier. He lived the last 40 years in the Soda Springs area.
    Don married Bernadine Wages January 20, 1950, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Bernadine passed away May 7, 2002.
    Don served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945. He retired in 1983 from Utah Power and Light. During his younger years he worked in construction and helped build the Palisades Dam. He was also involved in farming.
    Don was a member of the Soda Springs LDS Second Ward. He was a member of the Historical Society, a 4-H Horse Club leader and Scout leader.
    He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and DAV; the Odd Fellow Lodge and was currently serving as Noble Grand; and a member of the Operating Engineers Local IBEW. Don enjoyed horses, Western history and his family.
    He is survived by four sons and two daughters and their spouses, Michael McNeil, Salt Lake City, Utah, Kenneth and Nancy McNeil, Queens Creek, Ariz., Jon McNeil, Chubbuck, Idaho, Bill McNeil, Salt Lake City, Utah, Ellen and Rex Obray, Magna, Utah and Sandra DiViesti, Mt. View, Wyo. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Ray and Nelma McNeil, New Mexico, Gordon McNeil, Arizona, Ernest and JoAnn McNeil, Idaho, Shirley and Orval Murphy, Burley, Idaho, and Grace and Wallace Whitaker, Bountiful, Utah. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Marlene McNeil. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sherwin McNeil.

  14. Mildred A. "Millie" Moliter, 90, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Discovery Care Centre of heart failure.

    She was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Francis and Clara Bumann Stoltenberg. Millie was raised on a farm in Swan Valley, Idaho, where her parents and large family grew enough crops and livestock to provide for most of their needs even through the Great Depression.

    Millie and her siblings attended a one-room school through the eighth grade. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1938. Millie was a good student and decided to go to Spokane to pursue a nursing career. She graduated from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1942 and married Harry Moliter in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Sept. 26, 1942.

    During their 24-year marriage they raised four children. Harry died in 1966. Millie was a registered nurse on the night shift at Sacred Heart Hospital for more than 25 years and became an assistant director of nursing. She loved nursing in spite of the stress and low salaries of the time. After living in Spokane for 40 years, she moved to Superior and Idaho Falls for a few years to help care for family members. She then settled in Hamilton for retirement in 1983.

    She enjoyed her activities and new friends in Hamilton, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Hamilton Senior Center. She lived happily at Sapphire Lutheran Homes for many years. Millie liked to play cards, travel, read and do needlework. She also loved to shop, storing up gifts to give for Christmas and birthdays. She was known for her friendly personality and sense of humor.

    Millie was preceded in death by her husband Harry; parents Francis and Clara; brothers Eldon, Leslie and Eugene Stoltenberg; sister Marie Stock; and son-in-law Dr. George Greener.

    She is survived by brothers Herbert, Harvey and Ronald Stoltenberg; sisters Lois Wold and Ramona Prophet; and many nieces and nephews. She had a special bond with her nephew Earl Montee and his wife Floy Ann. She is also survived by daughters Kathleen (Pat) Vaughan of Hamilton, Laurene (Ron) Chaney of Hamilton and Kristine (Mike) Franklin of West Richland, Wash.; son Ray (Cindy) Moliter of Chandler, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

    Eula Afton Svedin Peterson, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and her loving family.

    Eula was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Rigby to Carl Fredrick Svedin and Mary Kathern Post Svedin. Eula attended Rainy Dell Elementary in Irwin, Idaho, and also attended schools in Rigby and Idaho Falls.

    On Sept. 9, 1937, Eula married Levoy F. Peterson in Rigby. From this union, they were blessed with six children.

    Eula worked as a waitress and a cook at Changnon's in Swan Valley. She also worked as a housekeeper at the old Idaho Falls hospital.

    Eula was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and crocheting.

    Eula is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Lyn Lowe of Idaho Falls; sons, William (Esther) Peterson of Idaho Falls and Robert (Queenie) Peterson of Boise; son in-law, Jim Mechling of Idaho Falls; sister in-law, Molly Calderwood of Idaho Falls; daughters-in-law, Shirley Peterson of Shelley and Rula Peterson of American Falls, Idaho; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Levoy; a daughter, Gaynol Mechling; two sons, Wayne Peterson and Doyle Peterson; a grandson, Travis Lowe; a great-granddaughter, Tyla Peterson; brothers, Carl Svedin, Wendel Calderwood and Don Calderwood; sister, Lavaun Peterson; and a son in-law, Robb Lowe.

  16. Ralph E. Peterson, 88, of Washington, Utah, formerly of Iona and Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Beehive Living Center in St. George, Utah, following a battle with leukemia. Ralph passed peacefully away with his wife, Laura Peterson, and other family members by his side.

    Ralph was born in Ririe, Idaho, on March 16, 1925, to Nellie and Clay Peterson. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1943, and then began his military service. He served two years in the 551st Bombardment Squadron. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1958 to 1961 and in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1962 to 1969. He retired from the Idaho National Laboratory in May 1987 after working at the MTR, ETR, and ATR reactor facilities.

    Ralph was an accomplished guitarist and lifelong member of the Old Time Fiddlers. He joined the Fiddlers in 1965 and served as Idaho Chairman of District 8 in 1975 and 1976. In 1994, he served as president of the Idaho Old Time Fiddlers. In Utah, he served as District Chairman of the Dixie Chapter and has been an active member for many years.

    Ralph was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years, he has served as High Priest Group Leader and Gospel Doctrine Teacher, as well as in many other callings. He was an avid genealogist and spent many long hours serving in the Temple.

    Survivors include his wife, Laura Peterson; daughters, Raline (Blaine) Rowley, Janis (Robert) Sadzewicz, Ginger (Robert) Meeks, Charlene Smith, Vickie (David) Ahlstrom, Christine (John) Campbell and Brenda (Michael) Shadler; son, Loren (Elaine) Peterson; stepsons, Lyle Pederson, Brent (Brenda) Pederson, Tom Tomita and "Bill" Tomita; and stepdaughters, Laura Lee Tomita, MaryLynn (Greg) Nelson and Becky Jo Tomita.

    Ralph was formerly married to Barbara Oswald (1947-1963) and Peggy Pederson (1963-1984).

  17. Ilene Korrell Reis, 69, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 surrounded by family. She was born April 28, 1944 in Ogden, UT, to Orson and Orlean Lake. She grew up in Irwin, ID, where she enjoyed the outdoors. She loved riding horses, fishing, and camping.

    Ilene met and married her first husband Waldemar Weeks in 1960. Together they had one son, Kelly. Walt soon after passed away in a fatal car accident. In 1962 she met and married Louis Korrell; together they had two children, Kindell and Debra. Ilene was a stay at home mom for many years. Raising her children was her biggest pride in life. When Ilene and Louis moved to Aberdeen, ID, she worked for the Aberdeen School District as a cook until 1984. They then moved to Dell, MT, where they owned several local businesses together, until Louis passed away in 1990.

    In 1991 Ilene married Robert Reis. She lovingly welcomed his five children. Together they worked at Maverick Mountain a local ski resort in Polaris, MT, for a few years. They then moved to Connell, WA, for a period of time before moving back to Aberdeen. Ilene then worked for Cardinal Thriftway that later became Stokes until retiring. After retiring she decided to move to Creswell, OR, for a brief period of time before finally moving back to Aberdeen.

    Ilene was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

    Her parents, and three husbands precede Ilene in death.

    She is survived by her children: Kelly (Kristie) Korrell of Connell, WA; Kindell (Lou) Korrell of Aberdeen; Debbie (Kelly) Klempel of Creswell, OR; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five stepchildren, and their families along with many great friends.

  18. Geneva McKay, 85, of Mesa, AZ, died November 18, 2002, at Hospice Neeley House in Gilbert, AZ. She was born June 2, 1917, in Idaho Falls, to Oliver Jacobson and Lydia Jane Daniels. She grew up in the Palisades area. She married Archie Robert McKay October 2, 1934, and they ranched with his father in Irwin and later bought the Hoenhen ranch in Grand Valley. They then bought the Miller Ranch in Swan Valley after being flooded out by Palisade Dam. They continued ranching until they retired in 1982. They spent winters in Mesa, Arizona, and summers in Idaho Falls.

    Survivors:
    Son: Wayne (Lois) McKay of Grass Valley, CA
    Daughters: Ardyth Sizemore of Phoenix, AZ, and Annis (Dick) Allen of Jackson, WY
    Brothers: Merle, Clon and Leal Jacobson
    10 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren

    She was preceded by her husband, twin sister Genieveve Jacobson Clark, brothers Ceciel and Rulan Jacobson, and great-grandchildren Cherise McKay and Daniel Wayne McKay. Funeral services were held Friday, November 22, 2002, at Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 N. Ridge. Burial in Fielding Memorial Park was directed by Wood Funeral Home.

  19. Janis Irene Thornburg, 85, passed away Jan. 5, 2018, in Des Moines.
    She was born on Sept. 23, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Thomas and Margaret (Ricks) Weeks. She grew up on her parents' sheep ranch in Swan Valley, Idaho. After graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1950, she attended Idaho State University. She then enrolled in a nursing program at the University of Denver (Children's Hospital), where she graduated in 1954 with a focus in pediatric care.
    Janis met her husband of 62 years, Dennis Austin Thornburg, when he and a group of friends worked at her father's ranch. They were married June 19, 1954, in Swan Valley. They moved to Ames, where Janis worked at Mary Greeley Medical Center while Dennis attended Iowa State University. In 1956, Janis and Dennis moved to Red Oak, where they lived the majority of their lives. After raising her children, Janis resumed her nursing career at Red Oak Internal Medicine. In 2014, Janis and Dennis moved to Clive to be close to their children. Janis enjoyed playing bridge, reading, singing, traveling and being with friends and family.
    Janis is survived by six children, Susan Thornburg (Charles Hibbard) of Hillsboro, Ore.; Carol Hoyt (Dr. Robert Hoyt) of West Des Moines; Wendy Thornburg of Iowa City; Tom Thornburg (Bette) of Marion; Jenny Blackford (Brian) of Johnston; and Matt Thornburg (Whitney) of San Francisco, Calif. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Andrew Hoyt, Amanda Thorp (Nic); Nate (Reiko), Nick, and Elizabeth Behlke; Brian Thornburg; Haley, Hannah, and Ariel Blackford; and Bear and Odin Thornburg. She has two great-grandchildren, Kellen and Reece Thorp.
    Janis was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; brother, Byron Weeks; and sister, Barbara Beckman.
    Memorial services are being planned for later this spring.

    POCATELLO - Our beloved matriarch, Annie Marlene (Campbell/Kopp) Lemmon, passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest on Jan. 14, 2012, at Portneuf Medical Center. She was 84 years old.
    Per her wishes, there will be no viewing and only a family graveside service at Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby, Idaho, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Carla Alex for the special help she gave to Annie and for all those who helped and supported our family at this difficult time.

  23. Rick Jackson, the road goes on forever and the party never ends.
    Richard Bart "Charlie" Jackson, 54, of Irwin, passed away January 22, 2019.

    Charlie was born July 27, 1964, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Robert Jackson Jr. and Bonnie Clair Jensen Jackson. He grew up and attended grade school in Irwin and graduated from Ririe High School. He also attended Idaho State University and received his Associates Degree.

    He married Linda Miller in Swan Valley. To this union were born three children, Zebariah, Zachery and Ethan. Richard and Linda made their home in Irwin, Idaho, where Richard worked as a Journeyman Ironworker. Then later after the loss of his leg he was grounds keeper and manager of the family business at the Covered Wagon and R.V. Park.

    He enjoyed playing music, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved his family and would do anything for them.

    Richard is survived by his loving wife, Linda Jackson of Irwin, ID; son, Zebariah (Emma) Jackson of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Zachery Jackson of Boise, ID; son, Ethan Jackson of Swan Valley, ID; brother, Robert "Shorty" (Marsha) Jackson of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Tim (Lisa) Jackson of GA; and brother, Kurt (Kelly) Jackson of Rigby, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents.

  24. Clyde Traughber
    Clyde David “Buster” Traughber, 86, of Jerome passed away May 22, 2018, due to health complications.

    Clyde was born May 15, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Clyde Ashmore Traughber and Gladys Valentine (Hungerford) Traughber. He was the oldest of three siblings: DeWayne Traughber and Juanita (Traughber) Thomas.

    Clyde was raised in Swan Valley and attended school there until the 8th grade. He attended high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and graduated in 1950.

    He married Wanda Schmier on January 21, 1951. Together, they had nine children. Clyde farmed and ranched with his dad in Roberts, Salmon, and Dillon, Montana, before moving to Jerome, Idaho in 1972, where he operated a dairy and farmed.

    Clyde and Wanda divorced. Years later, he married Kittie Norris and they moved to Burley where they purchased the Bel-Aire Trailer Park and ran it for several years. Clyde and Kittie divorced and he later married Sharon Higbee. They moved to Jerome in 2013.

    Clyde loved sports and enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He also loved appaloosa horses, watching rodeos, fishing, playing the slot machines, and ice cream! His biggest enjoyment was teasing his grandchildren. Clyde enjoyed being around people and was well liked by everyone who came in contact with him.

    He is survived by his brother, DeWayne Traughber; sister, Juanita Thomas; seven sons: Clyde “Greg” (Becky) Traughber of Jerome; Dave (Kellee) Traughber of Jerome; Mike (Theresa) Traughber of Jerome; Jake (Jennifer) Traughber of Jerome; Paul Traughber of Twin Falls; Jeff Traughber of Hansen; and Rick (Shari) Traughber of Jerome; two daughters: Tammy (Jerry) Meine of Dillon, Montana; and Chris (Kenny) Allison of Gooding; their mother, Wanda Traughber of Twin Falls; 25 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson; and former wives, Kittie Traughber and Sharon Traughber.

    Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale, staff at Genesis Care Center of Twin Falls, nurses at St. Luke’s, nurses and staff at Serenity, and nurses at Horizon Home, Health and Hospice for their excellent support and care.

    A viewing will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jerome with Rev. Mike Haddock officiating. Burial will follow at the Jerome Cemetery, Jerome.
